Wide-Eyed Witnessing
the belief in a duty,
to its skeptical acceptance,
then fixed to the horizon
a wide-eyed duty of belief.
I mused, had the judge simply shored up the question "What kind of world is this?" rather than paddling to "What kind of world do you want?", if there wouldn't now be more civilians
faithful to soldiers and natural law.
Strange that in this fleeting moment not only the dead of winter, but also those of Memorial Day had
come and gone.)
